Helping To Build A Hunger-Free Community

The Weekend Food For Kids Program is a project of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the School District of Rhinelander.

What happens when kids go home for the weekend and face empty cupboards? The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry and the School district of Rhinelander have partnered to create the Weekend Food for Kids Program to ensure that no child goes home hungry.

This program is currently serving over 200 children in the Rhinelander School District. Bags of food are distributed to the students each Friday.

Food being distributed is intended to be nutritious, delicious and simple for a child to prepare in case an adult is not available to do so.  The cost is approximately $7.60 per child per week.

If you would like to sign up, contact your student's school counselor for more information.
