Helping To Build A Hunger-Free Community

The success of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is dependent on volunteers! Your help is always needed. We invite you to join us in organizing or distributing the food.

Volunteer Applications are available for pick up at RAFP or can be completed online.


RAFP Volunteer Needs:

  • Transport food from local/area stores using your truck or van
  • Unload the food from semis, trucks or trailers
  • Sort and check donated food
  • Restock shelves and run errands
  • Work with produce - transport, sorting, packaging and display
  • Repackage soup and produce (i.e. potatoes)
  • Do general cleaning - floors, sinks, shelves, bins, etc.
  • Help with food distribution, especially on short notice
  • Coordinate food donations from local groups and businesses
  • Act as back-up for a site manager or the volunteer coordinator
  • Do home deliveries
  • Provide minor maintenance
  • File and type
  • Provide computer/printer technical advice
  • Help with food collection and fundraising events


The Rhinelander Area Community Garden Volunteer Needs:

  • Till and plant (spring)
  • Weed the garden
  • Harvest produce
  • Wash, package and transport produce to the pantry

Experienced gardeners will be at the gardens on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8AM - 11AM to coordinate activities and answer questions. Volunteers may schedule one hour or more per week.

Garden Locations: Phoenix Villa at 1011 Thayer Street, Rhinelander, plus the greenhouse at the pantry at 627 Coon Street.
