Volunteers

The success of the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry is dependent on volunteers!

Your help is always needed.

We invite you to join us in organizing or distributing the food. For further information or to volunteer for any position, contact the RAFP Volunteer Coordinator, Jill Galarowicz at 715-272-1114 or Jane Motowski at 715-369-RAFPJ (7237), or email us at rafp@frontiernet.net.

Volunteer Openings
We are especially looking for people to:

1.  Transport food from local/area stores using your truck or van

2.  Unload the food semi, trucks or trailers

3. Sort and check donated food

4.  Restock shelves and run errands

5.  Work with produce—transport, sort, package and display

6.  Repackage soup and produce (e.g. potatoes)

7.  Do general cleaning—floors, sinks, shelves, bins

8. Help with food distribution, especially on short notice

9. Coordinate food donations from local groups and businesses

10. Act as back up for the site manager, or volunteer coordinator

11. Do home deliveries

12. Provide minor maintenance

13. File and type

14. Provide computer/printer technical advice

15. Help with food collection and fund raising events

The GARDEN Needs Volunteers to:

  • till and plant (spring)
  • weed
  • harvest produce
  • wash, package and transport produce to pantry

 Experienced gardeners will be at the gardens on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 8:---11:00am to coordinate activities and answer questions.  Volunteers may schedule one hour or more per week and work at either garden.
