In the past 10 years, Rhinelander lost 1,200 jobs which paid at least $20/hour. A large percent of employment opportunities are in the service sector, paying as little as $7.25/hour, creating a class of “working poor.” In some Rhinelander schools, more than half the students qualify for free or reduced lunches.
The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) was opened in 2005 to assist Rhinelander area families on an on-going basis. We can also assist on an emergency basis.
We strive to achieve food security for everyone in our community through collaboration, cooperation, advocacy, resource sharing, and increased public awareness.
We are located in the Nativity of Our Lord Thrift Shop at 436 N. Brown Street in Rhinelander.
